Win the Daily

The key to a life-time of impact is found in winning the daily. There is a daily grind and diligence that is associated with long term success.

Here are 4 things to understand if you are going to make the most of today and build a legacy of impact:

  1. The Power of Daily – It is never seen up close, but it compounds over time for greatest impact.  Running 1-2 miles a day might seem like a small thing, but if you do that every day that is 1-2 marathons every month.  Sometimes the power of daily isn’t something you can measure, but you can still see the impact.  Daily isn’t a lot and it isn’t impressive in the moment – but over time it has a large impact.

  2. The Problem of Daily – the biggest problem with daily… is that it is daily!  The power of daily doesn’t work if you wait to be inspired.  When you wait on inspiration to come, you tend to become discouraged and then fall behind.  Association is key. Spend time with people who encourage and challenge you, and pay attention to what you can do to create progress today.

  3. The Practice of Daily - The practice of daily involves prioritizing what is most important. Decide what you can tend to and what can be left undone; because you can’t do everything.  You don’t serve a daily agenda – a daily agenda serves you.  Ask yourself what are the practices that you need to implement into your daily rhythm. Decide ahead of time what practices are essential for you and then commit.

  4. The Pay-off of Daily – The discipline of daily is what produces the results you want.  The truth is that you can do less than you think in one year and you can do far more than you think in 5-10 years. The impact of daily is this: Daily + Decades = Destiny.   What’s your destiny going to be?  You get to choose.

When you consider Winning the Daily, what is one thing you should start doing today?  What is one thing you want to accomplish in your life over the long haul?  What will that require of you today?
